Braitenberg's Rainbow

Braitenberg's Rainbow

An exercise in artificial intelligence based on the vehicles of the engineer Valentino Braitenberg. This Flash application was programmed in ActionScript 2.0. What is intersting about this is that each of the four model cars react to light differently.

Furthermore, the cars are not programmed to find their distance and position from the light and move themselves accordingly. Braitenberg used two light-sensitive sensors to steer his cars, and so I did the same to mine.

Braitenberg's Rainbow is a takeoff of an earlier project, Braitenberg's Vehicles. This version connects two Flash documents, communicating between them. One is the controller, which sends information to the other window, the stage. This version also makes each vehicle create a rainbow patten underneath the cars on a bitmap.
